Alright you people! Despite all that happened, we still love TKBAND ok! And i must comment on one thing. I've been doing a lot of googling, blog searching, and youtubing, and there's one thing i must satule TK. There were hardly any spamming and flaming started by TK! Goes to show that we are not sore losers and we do have sportmanship! While other bands( including the winning band) are literally crutinising each other(copy this, copy that,etc. yadedadeda~!!), i'm glad tkband members arent childish to resort to all that. So tkband, i'm proud of you...
On another note, i'm DAMN proud of our section! I can confidently say that we are indeed the only section is that is sooo united, to come together in a van, to be seated together at the stadium, wearing the same tee, go back to TK together despite the result, and go for dinner together. Name me another section that did that... :P
I believe we're the only section that has the most exmembers coming back together as ONE. So tkeuphoniums, be proud of that! We'll be back in 2010 with 24 x-members strong!
(PS: i'm soo looking forward to having Mardiah in! She's so loud! :P)
And in order to maintain that, i'm proposing a chalet in December.. Feedback?? Let me noe early so that i can book the one in Aloha loyang which is much BIGGER and cheaper. But i'll need to book early.. so let me noe! (preferred date/period etc.)
Gathering before weiee/pl fly to overseas will be planned soon. Perhaps just a simple dinner, with some uno intercepting.. euphomobile again? :P

Hey guys..
seemed like i missed out quite a bit again. too bad for me then.. my family were so excited i went home so they prepared steamboat for me lah.. haha.
anyway.. let's have another gathering before peilin and I fly off leh!!
I propose anytime between 23rd April to 3rd May.. I flying to US on the 6th..
im doing a quick blog here cuz i still have 1 final paper to go!!
dun really know what to write.. or the objective here.. to con? or to console?
well.. it's 4 days after the day we lost our bragging rights.. but it's not the end.. because there's still many more chances for us to win our bragging rights again!! Remember those feelings you had in the national stadium.. and when they tear down the stadium... those bad feelings should go together with it as well.. Wait for the new stadium and conquer it!
Stand up again and fight back 2 years later.
Remember that this will be the one and only time deyi can smell the best display.. because after that.. it will be TK's.

Despite the final highlight of the day not being a desired one, I still have to mention that it was nice having to meet up together again. especially since it was the national stadium for the one last time, and for real this time (i hope - we can't wait forever for a sports hub if they keep dragging the purpose of the supposedly closure).
some things that still made my day:
1. sitting on the national stadium grandstand for the last time was great. i can't believe i entered the grandstand side just. like. that.
2. weiee was just sitting beside me when the results were about to be announced. i heard everything within a one-seat radius. yeap, i was the one laughing. n i heard a little bit of the stadium loudspeaker announcing the results. a little bit only.
3. having our own mode of transport for the day, and having 11 pple into that car. *HUMP!* i really wonder how other pple (on the road and band members/alumni/parents walking out of school) think when they saw how close we are in the vehicle.
4. playing UNO after so long after not playing it for more than a year, even though we didn't finish the game because the current members reached MacDonalds then. and i must thank Wang Min for saving me from a +8 draw! thank goodness for intercepting! sorry vanessa for +12...
5. the cake! and how it was cut to have everyone a fair share. not only was there difficulty in cutting it nicely, i found it surprisingly hard biting and chewing on the cake. not that the cake was that hard to bite (no pun intended), but the cake just gets stuck on my bite plate i'm wearing on the upper set of teeth (not the braces!) for no solid reason.
Outdoor 2008 ended quick, i miss having a July finals to watch. but then again, if there were one this year its highly unlikely i wouldn't have been able to attend due to... service commitments.
hope to meet up again soon!

Hey guys,
First of all, many thanks to Ash, Fai, Lishan, Pl and Weiee for the live telecast. Thanks to Ash who kindly allowed me to use his mobile for this special event and thanks to the rest of the ppl for filling up the time over the duration of the call esp weiee who gave all sorts of constructive comments hahaha
Alrighty, its just moments after i know the results. Although I am kinda disappointed and sad, I think that it is just too bad that we didnt win. As Faisal said, it was a tough fight, so i guess who wins this competition may just come down to the judges' personal preference of the band's style (I am sure that TK and Deyi still have quite different styles). In addition, I am not sure whether the judges this year are the same as the ones who use to do the judging in the previous years. If they are different, that may be one of the factors as well.
I am sure Deyi worked really hard for these long awaited titles and I guess the yearn to win is really what motivates them to work so hard. Nonetheless, I am sure all the other bands worked really hard as well (esp TK band members put in heaps of effort into this competion, sacrificing time spent with family and studies).
A true champion never gives up. He will take the lost as a motivation to improve himself and thrive to reach the goal (wahaha does this phrase sound familiar?). This is how Deyi finally won after so many years.
So if any current members are reading this, I hope you are feeling better now. Dmd members reading this, thank you for listening to me nag wahaha. But I think whatever is mentioned above applies to general things in life as well. haha
I am so not in a very good situation myself and I am still trying to find my way out hopefully soon [I dun wanna get kick out of vet school :( ]
Cant wait to go home wahaha miss everyone back there.

To wanlin, sorry ur tee couldnt be sent to you on time. (Knowing that u wanted to wear the same section tee on the band comp day...). Nvm, can wear last year's tee.. We'll update you of the happenings k.. Oh, and sorry i not recording this year. :P But dont worry la, i bet videos will be up in youtube soon enough after the comp.. Be patient....
BTW, Some additional info....
The Assessment of Marching Bands will commence at 3.00 pm with six schools participating and the order of appearance is :
1) Guangyang Secondary School
2) Canberra Secondary School
3) Montfort Secondary School
4 ) North Vista Secondary School
5) Hwa Chong Institution (High School Section)
6) Yuying Secondary School
Ticket holders are kindly requested to proceed to the orange sector of the National Stadium. We apologize for the inconvenience caused.
so those with tickets,(i'm guessing the tix u got from CCAB the other time), you guys can go to the orange section, while WE party and create havoc at the gallery, rocking the whole stadium... WAHAHAH!

Hello!
Its me again..
Just an update. Thanks to my complaint/suggestion email to CCAB, the authorities have decided to change the venue for the Band Comp to National Stadium/Kallang. So you know who to thank now? haha!
So anyway, there were rumors that the date will also be changed to 19th April. However, it have been confirmed that there will be NO changes to the time and date of the band comp. Therefore the final details are
Venue: National Stadium
Date: 12 April 2008
Time: 3pm (band assesment), 4pm (display band)
Attire: TKband alumni try to wear black.. haha!
Its a non-ticketed event, and free seatings.
Some personal advice:
1) Bring lots of water.
2) bring a fan to cool yourself.
3) wear light. Dont wear sweater.. duh!
4) Bring your banners, poppers, pompoms, confettis, balloons, streamers, etc. WAHAHA!
5) Bring your cameras, video cameras, cameraphones
6) come early.. dont miss out on the action.

Hey guys!
TWO things to let you all know.
SECTION TEE
Section tees have been collected from the manufacturer. Outcome... ermm... not as good as we expected. But it's still not too bad.. really! (Ok, so the human face looks slightly greenish and the feather is not very red and the beret badge is rounded, etc...) but other than that it is still quite fine! :P
Current members should have received theirs last thursday. Zul's is with ChunKiat, so please collect from him if you have not received yours. Esther's will be given latest by Band comp day (because ordered late).
Ex members, please collect from us (either me, Peilin or Asraf) your tees before/on band comp day. Those who still haven't pay (you ought to be kick, punched and then slaughtered.... ;P ), please pay to Peilin before collecting. She was kind enough to pay for you 1st.
BAND COMP TICKETS.
Ok, this is the more frustrating matter. I don't know what CCAB was thinking (if they were even doing that! :P), giving out 4 tickets per person despite knowing that the grounds in HCI is much smaller than that of the National Stadium. Apparently, tickets were 'sold' out within 30mins!(no tix!) I did sent a complaint email to the cca officer, but all i received was an apology.(still no tix!) So majority of us are ticketless now.( NO TIX!!)
There are rumors going around that they are planning to change the venue back to National Stadium due to all the complaints(even from the judges). And since the National Stadium is still strong and available, i see a possibility. Lets keep our fingers crossed and pray hard!
In the meantime, we only have a few options.
a) go around asking/buying/hunting/begging/stealing for tickets from whoever have tickets.
b) learn mandarin and then go HCI dressed up as a HCI student.
c) learn a foreign language and pretend to be tourists, and try to sneak in to HCI (since it is open for visitors due to its national monument and stuff)
d) gather ticketless people and hold a protest outside HCI.
e) CRASH!!!
If you have any other ideas/opinions, please share with us.... we are desperate.... wahahah!

Hey guys, in case you do not know about this yet, tickets will be needed to attend this year's Display Band Competition at HCI. I managed to email the cca officer in charge and this is his response.
"Dear Faisal,
As the grounds of Hwa Chong Institution is significantly smaller than that of the National Stadium, we have decided to issue tickets for the event. Tickets can be collected from CCA Branch, 21 Evans Road from 3 April 08 onwards. The collection time is from 9 am to 5 pm. Tickets will be issued on a first-come-first-serve basis and each person is entitlted to a max of 4 tickets. "

Therefore, please try to secure your own tickets.. You can try getting tickets from the current members as well. Otherwise, it would be advisable that you make the trip down to CCAB to get your hands on the tickets. Do not depend too much on others.
